about

Written in two hours after reading Psalm 8, "Every Living Thing" has been a cornerstone song for me. Once a woman emailed me saying her father had recently committed suicide and the song was helping her continue to praise God through that tragedy.

lyrics

Every star fell down from Your hands
On the face of night like grains of sand
That the world may know
And Your glory show
From the mouths of babes I hear Your name
All Your majesty their lips proclaim
Singing Halleleu, Singing praises due

Every living thing, all Your praises sing
Yeah that’s right, and I’m alive

Every creature underneath the sea
Every mountain range and mystery
Every wondrous and amazing thing
All Your praises and Your glory sing

Every living thing, all Your praises sing
Yeah that’s right, and I’m alive
Each breath I take
Is my song of praise
